This luxury rooftop restaurant is finally ready to open on Miami Beach. Take a look

Another luxury rooftop restaurant is ready to open on Miami Beach.

From the Miami-based Golden Era Hospitality Group comes Oro, which is opening its doors this weekend, right next another glamorous dining spot, Mila, on Lincoln Road.

Gold, not surprisingly, is the theme here (“oro” of course means “gold” in Spanish). From its lavish entrance with golden arches to its cavernous dining room, which can seat more than 300 people, gold is everywhere, from the furnishings to the lighting. There is outdoor seating as well as indoor seating, and a bar in each area.

Last year when the project was announced, founder of Golden Era Hospitality Philippe Kalifa said the idea for the rooftop restaurant and lounge came from “a collection of memories and experiences I’ve had from traveling around the world.”

Mexican-born chef Victor Munoz, who was born in Guadalajara, will be leading the kitchen.

Munoz later emigrated to the U.S. and spent five years at restaurants in Walt Disney World, later traveling to Europe and other parts of the world to work with well-known chefs.

At Oro, you’ll find evidence of his travels. The menu includes seafood like crab, lobster, oysters and a variety of fish, and premium cuts of meat as well as tropical-themed dishes like bananas and caviar, which comes with Kaluga caviar, fermented banana peel butter, a plantain waffle and horseradish creme.

Diners will also find such dishes as Tom Kha Crudo with Kombu cured hiramasa (amberjack), wasabi and finger lime and dry-aged Rohan duck with sweet potato, lavender, hibiscus and red rosebud jus.

But Oro isn’t the only venue opening in the 15,000-square-foot space. Coming later this year is its nightlife companion Elixir, a high-energy lounge.
