Madonna has always liked to shock and has left fans reeling with a series of youthful Instagram snaps.

Posing in a black puffer gilet, holding a glass of white wine and with seemingly flawless skin, the 61-year-old singer captioned the shots "Tryin to Make a Movie........It's Really Hard? Wouldn't Have it Any Other Way!"

And while some fans praised her beauty others questioned how natural her look actually was.

One user commented: "You are so naturally beautiful", while another replied: "natural? her face is 99.99% plastic."

Another user described the photos as "So creepy", while someone else posted: "Can you show one photo without filters? It's ok to age! And you can make it look graceful too....no need to pretend to be a teenager...not cool," another said.

"She looks 16," someone else wrote, with another person agreeing, "You look younger than your daughter jeez."

Madonna is working on a biopic of her life with the singer announcing last year that she is co-directing and co-writing the film.

Writers Erin Cressida Wilson and Diablo Cody are reportedly working on the project.

Madonna revealed last week that auditions for the biopic are currently underway by sharing a video of herself dancing to her 1983 hit 'Burning Up'.

"Auditions for my film are a Surreal experience," she wrote. "But I'm enjoying Dancing to the Classics!! #burningup."

And rumours are rife that Madonna's own daughter, Lourdes Leon, is in the running to play her mother.

The resemblance between mother and daughter is certainly uncanny and as a trained actor Lourdes would no doubt be able to perfect her mother's mannerisms.

Other names in the frame for the lead role include Florence Pugh and Paris Jackson. Although no other actress seems to want the role as much as 13 Reasons Why star Anne Winters.

The Emmy-winning actress has even taken to Instagram to share images of her dressed in some of Madonna's most famous looks, writing: "Blow up @Madonna Instagram guys — I wanna play her in her new biopic."

Julia Fox, Kanye West's girlfriend, is also rumoured to be in the running to play Madonna's best friend Debi Mazar after Madonna posted a picture of them together and said they had been to dinner to discuss her film.

The movie is said to start in the 70s and Madonna has trawled through all parts of her life to bring to the script telling fans: “I keep forgetting that I’m writing about myself... I can’t make s*** up! But in fact I don’t need to. The truth will set you free and also be devastating!”
