Makeup Guru Pat McGrath’s Latest “Star Wars” Collection Serves Up ‘Intergalactic Glamour’ (Exclusive)
The collaboration comes in an out-of-this-world gilded Darth Vader collector’s case so the glam may always be with you

When you think about it, the legendary makeup artist and the popular sci-fi franchise have a lot in common: They both take imagination to the next level, are beloved for their mesmerizing aesthetics and inspire passionate fans to get their hands on collectible items.
Because of these similarities, Pat McGrath Labs and Star Wars have teamed up yet again; this time for a limited-edition, curated selection of items from the best-selling Star Wars x Pat McGrath December 2022 collaboration.
“What I think really connects these two brands is the ability to bring fantasy and joy to people’s lives,” McGrath tells PEOPLE exclusively of her partnership with the franchise.
“Pat McGrath Labs does this by creating exceptional products with truly transformative colors and textures that help you take your makeup looks to another dimension. Star Wars literally transports people to another dimension, having built an incredible fantasy world through its rich storytelling, complex storylines, and iconic characters.”
As for the latest collection, which drops on May 4, McGrath says she sought to showcase the pinnacle of "makeup must-haves.”
She tells PEOPLE, “I brought back a mix of best-sellers and new personal favorites, including the ChromaLuxe Artistry Pigment Star Wars Edition in Rouge Rebellion and Extragalactic Gold, the Lust: Gloss Star Wars Edition in Carnal Desire, as well as the two LiquiLust: Legendary Wear Metallic Lipsticks.”
The exclusive curation — which is packaged in a new, limited-edition Darth Vader bag — also contains three mascaras (Dark Star in Xtreme Black and Dark Star Colour Blitz in AquamarineDREAM and Pink Mystique) and three re-released five-pan eyeshadow palettes, each of which take after a signature character from the films: Divine Droid (R2D2), The Golden One (C-3PO), and Sith Seduction (Darth Vader).

The 2022 collection, which celebrated the 40th anniversary of the original Star Wars trilogy, marked the second collaboration between McGrath and the franchise. The first launched in 2019 and was tied to the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Both collections sold out in “light-speed,” says McGrath.
“After the success of our first Star Wars collection, the team at Lucasfilm reached out again as they were eager to celebrate the original trilogy’s 40th anniversary in a major way,” says the makeup guru. “To get inspired, I had a Star Wars marathon, rewatching all the films in order to catch visual details that I could then translate into makeup. I was really looking at the aesthetics of the whole Star Wars galaxy in ways I hadn’t necessarily done before.”
McGrath adds that the production company allowed her access to “incredible archival footage and early concept art.”
