Man Turns Mountain Dew Into Wine With Just 3 Ingredients
TikTok has introduced us to a lot of weird hacks, but nothing could have prepared us for one man's epic experiment with Mountain Dew.
Grab your finest glassware because you're about to learn how to turn Mountain Dew into wine. Charles Biolo (@goldenhivemead) took on the task in his now-viral TikTok, and seemingly succeeded.
Before taking viewers through the process of creating a bottle of neon green "wine," Biolo admitted that he wasn't sure if his boozy experiment would even work. Despite his hesitation, he started the process of turning Mountain Dew into wine by first dumping two bottles of Mountain Dew into a large container. From there, he went on to add honey and yeast to the questionable concoction.
After a few weeks of fermentation—and a some baking soda to raise the pH and clarifier to speed up the process—Mountain Dew wine was born.
Biolo seemed fairly impressed with his experiment. "To my surprise this didn't taste completely like battery acid, but more like a smooth citrus mead with maybe a slight chemical aftertaste. But honestly I expected worse. I consider this a massive win," he said.
Despite that whole "slight chemical aftertaste," commenters seem to be pretty impressed with the Mountain Dew wine. There were even suggestions that he turn the fan favorite Baja Blast into a wine.
