Marc Cain's AW25 Show Was Proof That Faux Fur And Coloured Tights Are Here To Stay
In the fashion world, trends tend to come and go with alarming speed, some barely even making it into our wardrobes before disappearing off into obscurity once more. So, when something begins to crop up season after season, you know it's really worth taking note – and start considering how to adopt it into your outfit rotation, too.
This was precisely the case at Marc Cain's most recent AW25 show, that acted as the latest proof that coloured tights, pointy-toe boots, faux-fur coats and burgundy are very much here to stay. The German brand kicked off Berlin Fashion Week with a bang on January 31, taking over the vast, industrial Kraftwerk space in trendy Kreuzberg to unveil its new collection, set against the backdrop of specially-made futuristic LED installations.

International celebrities including Kelly Piquet and Michelle Hunziker sat front row for the occasion, while Alessandra Ambrosio flew in specially to walk the metallic, 51-metre-long runway. Opening the show in a chic, head-to-toe burgundy ensemble, the supermodel set the sartorial tone as one of modern sophistication, that featured throughout in the form of chic tailoring, luxurious knits, two-piece sets and feminine dresses.
But staying true to its concept of 'blending the familiar with the visionary', Marc Cain ensured even the more classic looks were reimagined with unexpected details and bold silhouettes. Smart tweed skirt suits were given a fresh update styled with bright red tights and matching heels, for example, while monochrome tailoring was jazzed up with a metal waist-belt or statement jewels, and even the more low-key casual looks had a Western flair.
Faux-fur coats also featured heavily, both in neutral shades and a particularly alluring emerald green, while low-heeled, pointy-toe boots were established as the undisputed shoes of the season, styled with everything from jeans to maxi skirts and dresses.
The best part? These are all trends that you can start adopting now and that will freshen up your winter wardrobe to no end – plus they'll still be in style once the new year rolls around, too. No further excuse to hit the shops needed.
