Max Mara’s latest campaign is a tribute to 'remarkable women' everywhere. So what better way to mark the occasion than to launch our new suiting must-have, the Olimpia jacket – a staple piece that captures the brand's commitment to quality and understated power dressing?

Known for its expert blending of everyday elegance and functionality, Max Mara has long championed the idea that clothing should be a steady companion throughout the complexities of life. The brand has long placed chic workwear at its core, proving that tailoring can be wholly feminine, especially when rendered in soft fabrics like signature cashmere and silk in neutral hues.

Shot by Oliver Hadlee Pearch in the bustling streets of London, model Bibi Breslin wears the Olimpia jacket as if on her daily commute. Actor Joey King – one of Max Mara's Remarkable Women – also wears the jacket in the campaign, and recently became the 2024 recipient of the Max Mara Face of the Future Award, which formed part of the Women in Film Awards in LA on October 24.

Made of pure, lightweight camel hair, it features broad shoulders, a double-breasted design, and an oversized yet streamlined silhouette.

Worn over tailored trousers, a crisp white shirt, a cosy roll neck, or a simple black vest top, the Olimpia jacket adds just the right amount of polish to a working wardrobe.

Alluding to Greek mythology, the name Olimpia signifies a 'female hero,' according to the brand, and the narrative behind this campaign echoes Max Mara’s lasting ethos: every woman has the capacity to be remarkable, regardless of which path she takes. It’s a reminder that fashion can serve as both a shield and celebration, an expression of resilience for those who wear it.

As the US gears up for its upcoming elections, tailoring has made a significant return, with Kamala Harris redefining power dressing through her series of structured suits. The recent collections also proved that the tailoring trend is here to stay, with other brands like Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and Vivienne Westwood joining Max Mara in celebrating a softer approach to suiting, designed for everyday easy.

To celebrate this renewed interest in women’s tailoring and the message of soft power, ELLE UK is hosting a panel discussion with Max Mara on November 4, led by Editor-in-Chief Kenya Hunt and Fashion Features Director Tamison O'Connor. This conversation will explore the enduring impact of tailoring and the power it brings to the modern wardrobe.
