The show must go on! And amidst everything going on in the world, members of the celeb set attended the 23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles, Calif. Yet most attendees — including Sofia Vergara, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Ashton Kutcher, and others — paid more attention to current events than designer names and makeup artists.

However, one actress did both by delivering a strong political message on the red carpet, and thanking her team who helped her to get ready for the event.

In a Facebook post, the actress and neuroscientist Mayim Bialik, who stars on the hit CBS series The Big Bang Theory, acknowledged the stylists, makeup artists, and designers that helped to prepare and dress her for the event.

The 41-year-old captioned the red carpet image, “Despite me wanting to talk politics and refugee crisis at the SAG Awards, my look got good notice. Here are the folks who made it happen,” before listing her team.

She also posted an image of the exquisite jewels she wore to the event — which managed to make a statement as well.

“One of the perks of awards shows is wearing beautiful jewelry that reflects who you are. Thank you to Tiffany & Co. and The Merkaba for the Mogen Dovid (Star of David) necklace and ring (respectively), and to EF COLLECTION for the rings as well for last night’s #SagAwards!”

One user commented on the post, “I’m proud to be protecting my Jewish pride with you Mayim

????

thank you.”

Bialik’s look might have been subtle, but she was quite vocal on her beliefs during pre-show interviews and didn’t hold back.

“I’m a child of civil rights activist and a grandchild of refugees… [In] addition to being an actor, I’m a mom and I’m a scientist and I’m a writer and a daughter… I’m allowed to have opinions, too,” she told Refinery29. Additionally, she firmly believes that women have the ability to enact change. “We’ve got plenty of opportunities to do that as women, and our unique feminine sensibility will hopefully impact significant change over the next four years,” she said.

The actress and neuroscientist spoke on the controversial immigration ban recently issued by President Donald Trump too. “Diversity is the strength of this country as well. I’m the grandchild of refugees and I’m the child of civil rights activists, so this means a lot to me,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “There is a lot that is unacceptable and very un-American,” she said on the state of our nation.

Bold. Props to this couple.
