Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Will Spend Christmas Morning Apart Because of This Tradition
'Tis the season for chestnuts roasting on an open fire and carolers caroling, and that means Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will go all the way to grandma's house for Christmas Day. The royal family will put drama on hold to gather together at Sandringham House in Norfolk for festivities. And really, they are nothing if not traditional, so this year is expected to be much of the same — but that will require Harry and Meghan to spend the holiday morning apart. Strange, right?
According to the family's former chef of 15 years Darren McGrady, the women of the family spend the first hours of Christmas Day in their own rooms, eating breakfast — including fruit, toast, and coffee — alone.
"The Queen’s tray is delivered at exactly 9 a.m," McGrady told Daily Mail.
Prince Harry and Prince William will follow another agenda, though.
"The male royals, meanwhile, come downstairs to the dining room for a hearty breakfast at 8.30 a.m. with eggs, bacon and mushrooms, kippers and grilled kidneys, to set them up for the 11 a.m. church service at St Mary Magdalene," McGrady added.

"When they return, it’s straight into pre-lunch drinks. This is where Meghan may find she can request a glass of her favorite wine, Tignanello, a full-bodied Tuscan red. The Queen has a gin and Dubonnet, while Prince Philip has beer. Everyone else will sip a glass of Veuve Clicquot (except teetotal Prince Andrew) and nibble on nuts. Canapes before a full Christmas lunch are rather frowned upon."
At least they all get together to celebrate ... eventually.
