Melania Trump is being mocked for wearing a cabin crew inspired look as she landed in the UK this morning.

The 49-year-old First Lady had barely stepped off the plane at London Stansted airport before Twitter blew up with jokes about her so-called “trolley dolly” look.

She is visiting the country as part of a three-day long state visit alongside her husband, President Donald Trump.

But it would seem the usually stylish former model hit the wrong style notes as she touched down in London today – with “air hostess” and “flight attendant” jokes aplenty.

She wore a £650 pussy-bow blouse by Burberry, with a neck tie which looked the spitting image of a traditional airline scarf.

She paired the top with sky-high stiletto shoes and a skirt suit, which once again paid homage to a traditional cabin crew uniform.

To give Melania credit, her choice to wear Burberry, a British designer, to the UK was no doubt a carefully-considered style move.

What’s more, the shirt’s design, which features a print of military medals, gives a nod to the upcoming 75th anniversary of D-Day, which the President and the First Lady will attend an event for later this week, on 6 June, in Normandy, France.

Meanwhile, while her blue, red and white palate may well have been a clever homage to the colours of both the British and American flags, people can’t help linking it to British Airways.

Melania’s British-designed shirt follows in a theme of paying homage to the UK, with Melania departing Maryland in a London-landmark inspired Gucci dress earlier.
