Melania Trump Is Being Called Out for Hypocrisy Following Her Latest PSA

Cardi B, AOC, Lizzo and More Post Strong Reactions to the Presidential Debate

"Do you feel good? Do you feel safe? Do you feel listened to?"

In an almost unbelievable twist of irony, Melania Trump began October by sharing a PSA for National Substance Abuse Prevention Month (or National Substance Use Prevention Month, as her Twitter caption mistakenly identifies it).

Staring directly at the camera, the first lady explains the importance of teaching young people about the dangers of drug use through her Be Best initiative.

Twitter users immediately called Melania out for her and her family’s hypocrisy following remarks Donald Trump and Donald Trump Jr. made about Hunter Biden’s addiction struggles earlier this week.

During the presidential debate on Tuesday night, Trump interrupted former Vice President Joe Biden’s anecdote about his late son, Beau, to crudely mock Biden’s younger son, Hunter.

“Are you talking about Hunter?” the president interjected. “Hunter got thrown out of the military. He was thrown out, dishonorably discharged for cocaine use — he didn’t have a job until you became vice president, and once you became vice president, he made a fortune.” Not only are these assertions factually incorrect, but they shame Hunter for his addiction.

Biden responded, “My son, like a lot of people, like a lot of people you know at home, had a drug problem. He’s fixed it, he’s worked on it. And I’m proud of him. I’m proud of my son.”

The following day, Trump’s eldest son referred to Hunter in a radio interview as “crackhead Hunter.”
