Taking her all-white theme into the evening, the First Lady selected a white Dior ballgown for the state banquet.

She wasn’t the only one who opted for white. The Duchess of Cambridge, Duchess of Cornwall and the Queen followed the same colour palette. The Duchess of Cambridge also wore Princess Diana’s tiara.

The First Lady isn’t the only Dior fan in the Trump family. Ivanka Trump visited Dior’s sold-out Dior exhibition as soon as she landed in the UK.

The President and the First Lady are joined by Ivanka Trump, with her husband Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump and his wife Lara, and Tiffany Trump.

They’ll be enjoying a meal created by the royal chefs.

This is the First Lady’s fourth outfit of the trip so far.

She left the US in a £2,600 silk Gucci midi dress. The dress was a not-so-subtle nod to her impending visit, with London landmarks emblazoned tastefully in orange and green on the front.

Her carefully selected wardrobe continued on the British theme. She picked a sleeveless pussy-bow blouse by British fashion house, Burberry. She changed mid-flight and paired the blouse with a Michael Kors navy skirt suit.

Not everybody was enthralled with her post-plane attire, though, with some social media users referring to it as air hostess chic.

For afternoon tea with the Queen, Melania Trump chose a chic cream and navy long-sleeved dress by Dolce and Gabbana, topped off with a regal bespoke hat by Hervé Pierre.

She had an accidental matchy-matchy moment with the Duchess of Cornwall who also chose a white dress to mark the occasion.

After the controversy surrounding Meghan Markle and the President’s relationship, it was interesting to note that she appears to take style cues from Meghan Markle’s previous outfits.
