Leave it to Melania Trump to push the boundaries of church attire. The soon-to-be first lady wore a thigh-grazing dress to a Christmas Eve service at the 125-year-old Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Fla. — the church where there were married.

From the waist up, the dark dress looked churchworthy; it had three-quarter-length bell sleeves and a high neckline. But the skirt hit midthigh, a length we thought wasn’t appropriate inside churches. But for Melania, anything goes!

She accessorized the plain frock with a belt around her waist, wore heels and left her hair loose.

Listen, we shouldn’t be that shocked; it’s not as if she wore a hot-pink shirt or pussy-bow blouse to a presidential debate — oh wait, she wore both of those things, at once.

Some of us wouldn’t dare wear a dress that short to Christmas mass, but more power to her for wearing what she wants. Given the cheering that greeted the couple, it appears that few who attended the holy event minded what Melania wore.
