The Met Gala 2024’s Best Beauty Looks from Zendaya, Kim Kardashian and More
The Met Gala 2024’s dress code was “The Garden of Time,” with many guests donning vintage pieces or those inspired by bygone eras.
On the other hand, the beauty looks were anything but nostalgic.

Think sopping wet hair, heaps of pink and embellishments abound. Take Gwendoline Christie, who reprised the glassy, viral look by makeup maestro Pat McGrath at the Maison Margiela Artisanal 2024 show, in a dress from the brand. Zendaya followed suit for her first look of the night, with a vampy deep lip and similarly hued eyeshadow all the way up to the brow bone to boot.
Ayo Edebiri, Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner went big on blush, as did Eiza González. Elle Fanning went a bit softer with just a pinch of the stuff, adding a powdery pink shade to her ensemble. Cynthia Erivo’s iteration swept up the cheekbones to the outer corner of her eyebrows; Alexandra Daddario and Riley Keough went for a more traditional, unapologetically pretty version of the trend.
Harris Reed also followed suit, along with dramatic eye makeup. That seemed to set the tone for the rest of the carpet. Doja Cat’s makeup had the appearance of running mascara, while Eva Chen donned crystalline eyelashes that mimicked her gown.
Some partygoers opted for soft waves, such as Gabriela Hearst, Jessica Biel and Kim Kardashian. Dua Lipa, Isabelle Huppert and Rachel Zegler, on the other hand, also had wavy hair – that looked sopping wet. Rebecca Hall’s swept-back ‘do also had the appearance of being physically drenched.
On the more minimalist end, Brie Larson had a smooth side-part, and both Naomi Watts and Kylie Jenner wore their hair cleanly pulled back. Elizabeth Debicki and Naomi Campbell opted for long, pin-straight tresses, with the former’s practically grazing the floor.
Opting for crops, a few celebrities decided less is more – literally. Kerry Washington kept a short pixie, while Queen Latifah went for a blunt bob. Cara Delevingne eschewed hair entirely, given the hood cropping her face on her outfit.
