MGK and Travis Barker’s VMAs Performance Had a Ton of Behind-the-Scenes Drama

Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker performed their new song “Papercuts” last night at the VMAs, but, uh…turns out the whole thing was incredibly messy behind the scenes. If you were following along in real time, you probably noticed that their performance was announced as “coming up next” during the show, and then it just…didn’t happen. At the time, a tipster told celeb gossip account @DeuxMoi this:

MGK and Travis ended up closing the show *after* the award for Video of the Year, and there are finally some details about what exactly went on behind the scenes.

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, “Machine Gun Kelly buried himself in a grave as they were setting up to perform. He then burst out of the dirt in his grave, ran offstage, and said something to Travis. He was throwing elbows and seemed very upset before running backstage. The crew came and rolled MGK’s grave and Travis’s huge drum off the stage.”

Apparently, the drum was onstage for “about 10 minutes” before it was cleared, and MGK ended up returning to his seat with Megan Fox. He later seemed in a great mood thanks to winning a VMA, so!

Anyway, this isn’t the only drama Machine Gun Kelly found himself at the center of. He also got into a fight with Conor McGregor on the VMAs red carpet, which resulted in security getting involved and having to physically keep them apart from each other. Why, you ask? Conor allegedly wanted a pic with MGK and the dude said no. More on that good time below!
