Miley Cyrus Channeled Tina Turner in Her Third Outfit at the 2024 Grammys
She wore a bedazzled fringe dress to perform "Flowers."
Miley Cyrus just won the 2024 Grammys — both literally and figuratively. Right after taking home the award for Best Pop Solo Performance (her first Grammy ever!), the star performed the hit song that won her the golden Gramophone. And, she changed into her third outfit of the night to do so.
To sing "Flowers," Cyrus wore a bedazzled silver fringed dress with an ab-baring midsection cutout, beaded bandeau-style top, and blue and purple shimmery details. She paired the glittering number with black strappy heels and her over-the-top voluminous hair, which she debuted on the carpet earlier in the night. Everything from her dress and perfectly coiffed hair to her dance moves channeled other music (and fashion) legends like Cher and Tina Turner.
The only thing more iconic than Cyrus's dress was her performance. The pop star had a lot of fun calling out the audience for not singing along by screaming into the mic "Don't pretend like you don't know the words!" She continued to ad lib throughout the song, and after singing the lyrics, "Started to cry, but then remembered I ..." she chanted "I just won my first Grammy!"
By the end of the number, she had the entire room on their feet and singing along (from Chrissy Teigen to Taylor Swift and Kelsea Ballerini). She exited the stage with a literal mic drop, earning her a well-deserved standing ovation.
Before slipping into the frock, Cyrus wore a black sequined jumpsuit to accept her first award (so far), which was presented by Mariah Carey. Cyrus made it to the stage and had a totally relatable fan-girl moment. "This MC is gonna stand by this MC," Cyrus said into the mic. "This is just too iconic."
She went on to say that she got "stuck in the rain and traffic" on the way there and almost missed the category. "I could've missed the award, that's fine, but not Mariah Carey," she gushed. "I just saw you at the Hollywood Bowl, it was everything."
She made it with plenty of time to walk the carpet in a barely-there gold naked dress with Cleopatra-inspired details.
