When it comes to red carpet events, the Grammys never seem to disappoint.
The awards show is known for some of the most iconic red carpet looks around, with highs that include Jennifer Lopez’s revealing green Versace gown in 2000, and its ever-present roster of unexpected fashion choices.
Miranda Lambert was the latest musician to take a fashion risk at Sunday night’s awards show, and took her Grammy look to new casual heights.
Lambert, a Grammy performer and three-time nominee at this year’s event, was on hand for red carpet interviews while wearing a cool and casual look.
The “Bluebird” songstress opted for a laid-back approach, pairing a denim jacket with a star printed button-up, a fitted black skirt, and cowboy boots.
Some fans online were quick to praise her low-maintenance vibe, while others were less than impressed.
One Twitter user called Lambert’s fashion choice “bold,” while another praised her as an “icon” for showing up in a jean jacket.
Despite the love from some fans, others on Twitter thought that Lambert’s look seemed more appropriate for a shopping trip than for a red carpet.
The country star did return to the red carpet later on in a more traditionally glamorous look, sporting a sequinned silver gown and turquoise clutch.
Lambert also noted that she was grateful to be back at this year's Grammy Awards, and particularly for the opportunity to play with her band again after months apart.
"My band and I haven't seen each other in a really long time," the 37-year-old told People. "Just us being together playing 'Bluebird,' there's a synergy, I guess it's gratitude more than anything."
