'Mocha is the moment': How to get a free mocha from Peet's Coffee on New Year's Day
2025 will be the year of "Mocha Mousse" and "mocha moments," and Peet's Coffee is celebrating the color with free mochas on New Year's Day.
"You deserve a sweet treat!" Peet's said in a post on Instagram. "Ring in 2025 with a FREE small Caffe Mocha on 1/1/25 from 12pm – close when you mention 'Mocha Mousse' at checkout at participating Peet’s retail coffeebar locations."
As noted in caption, free mochas will be available at Peet's retail coffeebar locations starting 12 p.m. local time on Jan. 1, 2025 with the code "Mocha Mousse."
The offer is limited to one beverage per customer and is valid which stock lasts. It cannot be redeemed or used online or for in-app purchases. Peet’s locations within airports, supermarkets, etc. are excluded from the offer, the company said.
Peet's says the deal is being offered to "celebrate mocha lovers everywhere."
What is Mocha Mousse?
Last week, the Pantone Color Institute announced "Mocha Mousse" as the shade for 2025.
PANTONE 17-1230 (Mocha Mousse's government name), is a serene, lightly pigmented color. It's "a mellow brown infused with a sensorial and comforting warmth," Pantone Color Institute vice president Laurie Pressman previously told USA TODAY.
Pressman explained the color is meant to engage multiple senses and was inspired in part by "little treat culture" − a growing trend in which people punctuate their day with small pleasures like a store-bought coffee.
