If there is one person in my life who has put me on to some high-quality cookware and bakeware, it’s my mom. When I moved to New York City nearly six years ago, I had very few things for my kitchen. So, naturally, it was Mom to the rescue. Over those first couple of years, she regularly bought me stuff for my kitchen — both for Christmas and just because. One of the items she got me in those early days was a Staub Two-Piece Baking Dish Set. I had no clue then how lucky I was, because I’ve used them at least weekly since. They’re amazing for cobblers, brownies, cinnamon rolls, roasted … everything, and so much more. And better yet, these versatile and durable baking dishes are currently on sale at Zwilling for 44% off. With this discount, you can nab this set for just $50 in time for peak baking season.

What Is the Staub 2-Piece Baking Dish Set?

This set is pretty simple: It’s two rectangular baking dishes, measuring 7.5” x 10.5” and 6” x 7.5”. The larger dish is perfect for casseroles and roasting meats, and I’ve loved the smaller, more personal-sized pan for roasting broccoli and making compact versions of fall-forward crisps. The dishes themselves have a very classic appearance, with a cream interior and a colored exterior (unless you opt for the white option, which is all one shade). There are 10 colors available on Zwilling’s site, and nine are on sale right now. These pans are ceramic with a porcelain enamel coating, which I’ve found makes them pretty easy to clean. Even better is the fact that you can just pop them in the dishwasher when you’re done using them. And while I’ve used these at temps as high as 450°F to 500°F in my own oven, they can withstand as much as 570°F.

Why I Love the Staub 2-Piece Baking Dish Set

These two humble (yet beautiful) baking dishes have withstood more than five years of constant roasting and experimental baking (let’s not talk about the time I tried baking a yeasted dough that never rose). And all they have to show for that is some very light scratching on the bottom of the pans that I had to look very hard to find. I’m willing to take responsibility for those, too, as my cookware storage cabinet is chaos personified. But you know what you won’t find on my dishes? Stains, cracks, or any noticeable signs of wear and tear.

While I love both of the baking dishes and use them a ton, I have a special love for the smaller dish because it’s the perfect size for my little two-person family or just myself on nights when I’m dining alone. I love throwing a few florets of broccoli in there to roast while I cook off my chosen meat for dinner. This is also going to sound wild, but I’ve literally used the smaller dish to bake a crisp in my toaster oven upon realizing the pilot light in my oven had gone out. So I’m completely serious when I say I have put these baking dishes through their paces and they still look stunning and perform beautifully.

I am very passionate about the cookware and bakeware I use (having used quite a lot of it), and I cannot recommend this Staub Two-Piece Baking Dish Set enough. Beyond the fact that I have had it for years and years — and anticipate having it for years to come — you truly can’t beat the price point of it now that it’s on sale for only $50 at Zwilling. In my humble opinion, this set pays for itself — especially when the holidays roll around.
