New Mom Gypsy-Rose Blanchard Shows Off Postpartum Body ‘Almost a Week’ After Giving Birth
Blanchard welcomed her first child with boyfriend Ken Urker on Dec. 28
Gypsy-Rose Blanchard is documenting her postpartum progress!
“Almost a week postpartum,” the new mom, 33, wrote over a selfie on her Instagram Stories on Friday, Jan. 3. “Feeling more energized.”
The photo showed off her slimmer figure since welcoming daughter Aurora Raina Urker on Dec. 28, with her boyfriend Ken Urker — the same day Blanchard was released from prison one year ago for her role in the 2015 murder of her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard.
"Both of us have a fascination with the Northern Lights, and the proper term is the Aurora Borealis," Blanchard told PEOPLE earlier in December of the meaning of their child’s name.
"I think it was maybe in 2018, we wrote each other's future kid's name on pieces of paper and Aurora is what we both picked without even knowing each other was picking it."

Blanchard and Urker, 31, were previously engaged in 2018 before they broke up and later reunited.
The couple announced the arrival of their little one days after her birth.
“Welcoming 2025 with the greatest gift of all 👼,” Urker captioned an Instagram photo of the family of three on Jan. 1.
The image showed Blanchard laying in a hospital bed, smiling as she held Aurora. Urker stood leaning over them both as he checked on his bundle of joy.

Prior to welcoming their first child together, the Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up star spoke to PEOPLE about how she planned for her relationship with her child to be different from the one she had with her mother.
"All the things that I wanted in a mother, I want to give to this baby," she said. "My mother told me I was never going to get married, raise a family, have kids or do any of that. So, to be here, standing on my own two feet and expecting my first baby, that's something I've reached as an achievement and a personal goal.”
Blanchard continued, "I thank God every day that I am now having this second chance at life with a kid of my own. The way my mother parented me is definitely not the way I'm going to be. We always say for the next generation, we want to be better than we were raised. And so, for me, I think that couldn't be any more truthful.”

Following her baby shower in November, the then-expectant mother shared her gratitude for the support her friends and family have shown her.
"Ken and I were so excited to have a beautiful celebration that our daughter Aurora Raina Urker can look back on and see how our community welcomed and embraced her with love," she told PEOPLE exclusively. "She will be supported and given all the happiness a child should experience.”
