Pregnant Woman Mad After Sister Booked Her Destination Wedding for 2 Days After Her Baby's Due Date

Two upset women (stock image)A pregnant woman has fallen out with her sister after she booked her overseas destination wedding on a date that's just two days after her baby is due.
In a post on Reddit’s "Am I the A------" forum, the woman, who is expecting her second child, explained that her sister told her she is having her wedding in France — leaving her in a difficult position when it comes to whether she'll be able to attend.
The woman said that, prior to finding out that she's pregnant, her sister had announced her engagement and shared that she and her fiancé planned to get married in the Caribbean.
“I tell my sister she just needs to do what makes her happy but no, I can’t come to the Caribbean due to [the baby's due date],” she wrote. “She tells my husband she can’t have a wedding without me there and will change the plans.”
The woman said her sister later called to tell her the wedding would now be taking place in France — “two days after our baby’s due date.”

Bride walking down the aisle (stock image)The bride's sister said she’s "devastated" not only because she most likely won't be able to attend the wedding, but because she and her husband’s family would not be around when their baby arrives.
“This means my husband and I have no one to look after our now 5–year old-son for the labor,” the woman wrote. “My mom is very close to my son and he isn’t used to staying with anyone outside of me, my husband or my mom overnight.”
The woman said she asked her sister “if she could get the date brought forward maybe by a week,” but the bride-to-be refused. “Honestly, could she have not picked any other week in the year?” the woman wrote.

Reddit users sympathized with the pregnant woman in the comments section.
“Your sister knows very well when you are due and could have postponed the wedding to a LATER date that allowed you to have the baby, heal and arrange childcare of some form. She could have had a wedding near you and the rest of the family to help with costs for EVERYONE,” one person wrote.
A second user said, “Your sister should have understood when she was told the first time — if you couldn't make it to the Caribbean, how would she expect you to make it to France?”
