A Myrtle Beach, SC smoothie shop will open a 2nd spot, feature new menu choices
A smoothie shop located at Coastal Grand Mall will open a second location in the Grande Dunes area later this year.
Acai Couples, located next to Hollister at 2000 Coastal Grand Circle, also plans to expand its menu. The new store will be near the Food Lion complex and adjacent to Royal Ramen.
It’s unclear when the new location will open, as the company originally advertised opening spring 2024.
The shop serves smoothies and acai bowls but at the Grande Dunes site, there will also be coffee, toast and sandwiches, according to Acai Couples’ Instagram. The restaurant opened in May 2019, the website says.
The coming Grande Dunes location, 7821 North Kings Hwy, resembles a typical cozy coffee shop. The store is not yet open but, looking in from the outside, it appears to have most of its furniture. The color palette is made up of brown and white and there is ample furniture, including a built in desk. There are tables available for groups of people or seats at the desk with nearby outlets for those looking to work.
Acai is a nutrient-dense fruit that has health benefits such as being high in antioxidants and can help improve cholesterol, according to WebMD.
It is typically blended with other fruits and served as a smoothie or in a bowl. The smoothie bowl has a variety of toppings to choose from, including fresh fruit, granola and peanut butter.
