Even though it's still summer, it's never too early to get excited about Christmas movies. And fresh off of the news that Netflix's A Christmas Prince is getting a royal wedding sequel, the company just announced it's putting out yet another royal-themed Christmas romance this year.

Star Vanessa Hudgens broke the news on Instagram with a photo from the set with her costar, Nashville's Sam Palladio. "Did someone say a royal wedding? That's a wrap on The Christmas Switch, coming to you this holiday season on Netflix," she wrote. "So excited for you guys to see this one."

According to a description from Netflix, the movie is actually called The Princess Switch, a romantic comedy about a duchess and a commoner who look exactly alike and decide to switch places. (Presumably, Hudgens will play both parts.) "But things get complicated when they each fall in love with men who know don't know their true identity," Netflix teases.

It seems like a modern-day take on The Prince and the Pauper, set in the Meghan Markle era. Though some fans have pointed out more recent similarities, like Selena Gomez's movie, Monte Carlo, and even a Barbie movie, there have been countless retellings of The Prince and the Pauper over the years.

The title confusion by Hudgens may have been because there was a recent movie already called The Christmas Switch. Just back in 2016, a movie with the same title featured Santa Claus switching bodies with a younger man to make his job easier around the holidays.
