NHLer Josh Anderson and wife Paola share exciting baby news: 'We can't wait to meet you little one'
The happy news comes less than a year after the pair were married in a romantic destination wedding in Italy.
Congratulations are in order for Paola Anderson (formerly Finizio) and Montreal Canadiens player Josh Anderson, who are expecting their first child later this year. On Sunday, Anderson announced the happy news by sharing a set of maternity photos to Instagram. In the first photo, the pair posed while embracing her growing baby bump, while a separate photo featured a portrait of the mom-to-be wearing a white button-down shirt while cradling her stomach.
"We can't wait to meet you little one," Anderson captioned her post.
The news garnered well wishes for the first-time parents from friends and fans.
"Congratulations you guys," wrote Angela Price, wife of Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.
"Beautiful! So exciting," wrote Emilia Armia, who's married to Canadiens player Joel Armia.
"Over the moon excited and happy for you both!" someone wrote. "You are going to be the most incredible mama."
"So beautiful," another echoed. "You guys are going to be the best parents."
The happy news comes less than a year after the pair tied the knot. In June 2024, the couple married in an elaborate destination wedding in Italy. Anderson shared multiple posts to social media that shared details of the colourful outdoor ceremony in Brindisi, a city in the southern region of Puglia, Italy.
"Married my favourite person in my favourite place in the world," Anderson captioned a set of photos by Italian wedding photographer, Marilisa Spinazzola.
The festivities featured three separate bridal looks by Anderson. After an outdoor dinner, the couple and their guests enjoyed a champagne toast while cutting their three-tiered cake. The bride opted for a silk halter gown to dance the night away while Josh ditched his shirt to celebrate, drink in hand, wearing only his trousers and suit jacket.
Italy holds special significance for Anderson, a Montréal based physiotherapist with Italian roots. In May 2023, she shared photos to social media celebrating her engagement during a holiday in Puglia.
"My person, forever!" she wrote. "The most perfect night in my forever happy place. Here's to a lifetime of loving you."
In November 2023, Anderson headed to New York City for a joint bachelorette weekend alongside fellow partners of Montreal Canadiens players, including Emma Fortin (now married to Brendan Gallagher), Emily Flat (now married to Jake Evans) and Joel Edmundson's fiancée, Ebony.
