Nordstrom's epic Anniversary Sale is without a doubt one of the of the biggest shopping events of the year, especially for fashion lovers. The mega event offers Nordstrom aficionados the chance to save on everything from apparel to makeup from some of the department store's most popular brands.
The Anniversary Sale will officially open to the public on July 28 at 3 a.m. EST/12 a.m. PST and runs until Aug. 8. Nordstrom cardholders in the U.S. have been granted early access to the sale while Canadian cardholders can currently preview the sale and begin building their wish lists. Starting July 25, Canadian cardholders can shop the sale ahead of the general public, nabbing first dibs on their most coveted items.
Even though we're entering the peak of summer, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the perfect chance to shop and save on year-round wardrobe must-haves, including the Thread & Supply Shirt Jacket (shop in U.S. here, shop in Canada here). The "shacket" (shirt jacket) is one of the biggest fall fashion trends, and one of Nordstrom's most wished for items ahead of the Anniversary Sale.
The flannel shirt jacket is a great topper for fall that can be thrown over top of jeans and a T-shirt for a laid-back look that's still put-together and on-trend.
The 100% polyester jacket features a soft jersey lining and front button closure — and while it is machine washable, it must be hung to dry.
What people are saying
Thread & Supply's versatile piece has earned a 4.4-star review from Nordstrom shoppers, who have called it a "cozy" look for fall and a budget-friendly piece that delivers major style points.
"These shackets are fabulous and look much more expensive than they are, plus they're soft, cozy, and on-trend," one shopper wrote. "I bought one at the end of the season earlier this year, and picked up two more at the Anniversary Sale this year; I know I will get a ton of wear out of all of them. They do run really big; I’m 5’5”, 135, and typically a small, and the XS in this is still super oversized, but in a good way."
"There are a ton of these out there now, but this one is the best I’ve seen. It’s priced right, made very well, and a great length and fit. I snagged the black plaid tan on the first day of the Anniversary Sale and I’m thrilled with it!" another wrote. "It’s soft and has a lining so will be perfect for nippy fall weather in Seattle."
Although there are mostly positive reviews, some shoppers have warned that the boxy fit might not be for liking while others said their jacket "shed" on them while wearing.
"Boxy shape, warm and comfortable," one Nordstrom shopper wrote. "Style wise, it’s not so cute on me, but as a practical cold weather piece at a great price, I might keep it."
If you're looking to jump on the shirt jacket trend without breaking the bank, this cute and versatile shacket might be for you. However, if you're hesitant about the oversized look, it might be best to try this piece on in person before you buy. Nordstrom handles refunds on a "case-by-case" basis (including online purchases) with proof of purchase, if you choose to do exchanges and returns.
