OpéraSPORT SS24 Honors Its Blossoming Relationship With Nature

OpéraSPORT presented its Spring/Summer 2024 collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week this season, using nothing but nature as its humble backdrop.

Drawing inspiration from the brand's ever-blossoming relationship with the world around us, its SS24 collection featured earthy tones, floral embroidery and nature-inspired prints, as guests sat (quite literally) among the elements in the Østre Anlæg public park.

"The vision for the SS24 collection is ignited by the captivating shapes and colours we experienced during the early spring and high summer. OpéraSPORT was born with a responsible mindset, why the relationship to nature is something that we value -- therefore it feels so natural, that we are having our first show under the open sky and surrounded by nature. We wanted to make nature speak for itself, which is something we have used as the creative direction for this show," the brand's founders, Stephanie Gundelach and Awa Malina Stelter, note in a press release.

In line with the rest of the season's feminine-first showcases, the collection featured sheer, embroidered tops and dresses, alongside a thoughtfully expanded range of unisex designs. Elsewhere, the collection marked the brand's first footwear offering, crafted in collaboration with The Garment Project. Designed using recycled vegan leather, the shoe collection includes a pair of heels, a pair of sandals and a pair of loafers.

According to the brand's press release, the showcase's hair and make-up followed a "less-is-more" approach, instead placing its emphasis and efforts on highlighting the natural beauty of the individual model. Continuing OpéraSPORT's responsible design ethos, the showcase was elevated by unique showpieces, upcycled from leftover fabrics from previous seasons, which will be for sale following the season in order to minimize waste.
