Outrageous Homes returns: Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's back for a bold second season
If, like us, you were glued to the screen when the first series of Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's Outrageous Homes aired last year, good news is in store: not only is it returning for a second series, but the team are looking for bold and daring homeowners to take part.
The series celebrates some of the UK's most wild, wonderful and truly outrageous homes and their proud, visionary owners, with Laurence celebrating what it truly means to have a unique point of view, vision and eye for design.
‘28 years ago when I filmed the first episode of Changing Rooms, I suspected that this nation wasn’t actually the aesthetic blandscape it appeared to be and now, with Outrageous Homes Season Deux (The Glampire Strikes Back), I’ll be up to the armpits in weird,’ says Laurence. 'Homeowners who dare to be different are the beating heart of this celebratory telly feast and I can’t wait to spend time with yet more carbon-based lifeforms who will never be afraid of living life THEIR way.'
In each episode , LLB will visit homes with different and distinctive designs with engaging stories behind them.
A pirate party pad, a pink shrine and a vampire fantasy lair, not to mention an underwater Atlantis, a Venetian palazzo and a medieval-themed terraced home, were some highlights of series one.
'Series one was so much fun we simply had to send the inimitable LLB back on the road to meet more extraordinary people and I can’t wait to see the properties he and the team discover for us this time around,' says Deborah Dunnett, commissioning editor for Channel 4.
If you think your home could fit the bill, you can contact the team at outrageoushomes@iwcmedia.co.uk to apply – you never know, you could be getting a visit from the iconic interior designer and TV personality sometime soon.
A broadcast date has yet to be confirmed for series two, but there will be four one-hour episodes. Until then, you can catch up with the first series on Channel 4.
