Parents, do you limit access to social media and technology or let it fly? Tell us. | Opinion
Parenting can be a challenge. It can feel that expectations are way too high and that support is way too low.
We spend our days worrying about decisions we have moments to make and then regret, often, what we decide. Then, we get nonstop judgment and second-guessing from all sides.
It can be a blessing to let our kids sit quietly with technology when they're young, but it's frightening to watch them enter their teenage years with smartphones in their hands in a world of evolving social media.
This is why we're asking you, the readers, parents and caregivers, about your decision regarding technology and social media.
Here are some questions to consider:
Do you let your child loose with iPhones and iPads?
Do you trust them to post on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram or, God forbid, Snapchat? Is that still a thing?
What should parents and caregivers consider when it comes to social media and technology?
What are your greatest fears?
There is no right or wrong answer here. We just want to know about the struggles or decisions you all live with when it comes to letting your children grow up surrounded by technology and the potential for problems that come with that. Fill out our form above or email us at forum@usatoday.com.
