People Are Rattling Off The Purchases You Should Stop Making ASAP Because They're All A Big Scam
Nothing is worse than getting excited about a purchase only to later learn that it doesn't do what it claims to do, in turn making it a complete scam. People of the BuzzFeed Community recently shared things they think people should stop buying because they're bogus. Here is what they shared:
."CBD is a huge scam. I know so many people, myself included, that it doesn't do anything for us. If it works for you, awesome! But it seems like it only works for a very small number of people."
."A majority of anti-aging skincare products are a crock of shit. Do yourself a favor and wear an SPF every day — it’ll do more than a lot of the products you’re using."
."Memory enhancers. Not a shred of evidence they work."
."Detoxing foot pads."
."My mother bought 'weight loss socks' that cost £40. They were just standard grip socks. She also bought a 'weight loss ring' for £60. She was embarrassed when I showed her the same ring on AliExpress for £1."
."Bottled water in countries where tap water is perfectly drinkable."
."Newer versions of the iPhone. Almost five years ago, I bought my current phone, an iPhone 10. It still works just fine and does everything I need it to do, so I don’t see how the latest iPhone model would provide me with any more utility. I typically kept my iPhones for four or five years and may go even longer with my current iPhone 10."
."Carpet powder to freshen up your carpet before vacuuming."
."Deodorant should be unigender and non-scented."
."Clumping kitty litter. I strongly prefer non-clumping because it's just as effective at masking odors as they happen, AND I don't use (waste!) as much due to having to refill to the appropriate depth more frequently (the way I have to with clumping litter as clumps are created and removed)."
"Non-clumping litter is more absorbent, and the kind I use can absorb liquid and diffuse to the surrounding litter two or three times before it's saturated and has to be scooped out. When it clumps, anything that gets wet forms a clump immediately and gets scooped out daily with the solid waste. Annoying."
."(Non-prescription) products that promise to make your hair grow faster and detox your liver. Both are absolute bullshit and scientifically impossible."
."Timeshares. My mom and dad got their first timeshare in the late '80s when Cancun was still pretty undeveloped. They did use the timeshare for the entire time they signed up for it — about 35 years, I think. So what does dad do? Gets talked into re-signing for another 35 YEARS. He's 78 now, and nobody in the family really uses it. We kids are gonna get stuck with that thing when they're gone. John Oliver did a show on this (last year, maybe?), and let me tell you — timeshares are next to impossible to dump. Additionally, those companies who promise to get rid of them for you (obviously for a fee) are even bigger scammers than the original timeshare!"
."Testosterone pills/powder and all of the assorted 'boner' pills and creams. Anything to try and get an erection."
."Most vitamin supplements are scams and are not regulated by the FDA. Anything can be in them or nothing. The only exception is vitamin D."
.And finally, "Tesla cars. They're no more special than any other electric/hybrid car."
