Thanksgiving is right around the corner, which means millions of people are preparing to travel to meet up with family or friends for the holiday.

If you need to mail a package or pick up some prescription medication this week, it might be a good idea to plan ahead, as some pharmacies will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28. Some grocery store, retail store and restaurant chains will also be open, albeit mostly under adjusted hours.

Here's what you need to know about major pharmacy chains, like CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid, and whether or not they'll be open on Thanksgiving this year.

Most Walgreens locations will be closed on Thanksgiving, the company confirmed to USA TODAY. 24-hour locations and pharmacies will remain open, however non-24-hour locations will be closed.
