The snowman is sitting on a fence post. It has two eyes and small twig for a smiley mouth. Moorland behind the scene is covered in snow.

A white-walled two-storey house with a single storey extension attached sites on the shores of the loch. There are low hills in on the opposite shore.

A jetty and oil rigs under the orange glow of the sky. The light is reflected on the waters of the sea. Snow on the shower line has a pink tinge due to the light.

The ground is blanketed by thick snow and ice covers a loch in the Highlands in the distance is snow-covered Suilven.
David May said: "Heavy going through deep snow to the shores of Cam Loch but well worth it for a view of Suilven." [David May]
The small fishing boats are the colours of red, yellow and blue. The boats are reflected in the harbour waters.
Janina Dolny, of Edinburgh, said: "These little fishing boats from Dunbar were safely tucked up in harbour during the recent wild and stormy weather." [Janina Dolny]
Concrete steps lead from a street down to the beach at Cromarty. Rock armour coastal protection either side of the steps are dusted with snow and there are rows of houses in the background.

The church, which is roofless, is on a rugged moor above a loch. Hills and mountains rise from the loch. The sky is dark and atmospheric.
John Cuthbert's image of a ruined church on a hill above Loch na Cairidh, Skye. John said the scene evoked a sense of "mystery and history, with the play of light and shadow adding depth, layers, texture and emotion". [John Cuthbert]
Two scoops of ice cream covered in sauce are sandwiched between chocolate covered, mallow-filled wafers. The treat sits on a white plate on a table.
Fiona Macdonald said she savoured this double nougat at a Glasgow coffee shop after news reports the treat could be under threat due to doubts over nougat production in Scotland. There is a campaign to keep making them. [Fiona Macdonald]
Snow covers a Scottish Highland landscape. The frozen loch stretches to mountains including An Teallach, which is catching sunlight.
John McGowan, of Ardullie, said: "The photo was taken around sunrise at a frozen Loch Droma looking towards An Teallach. Had to wade thigh deep through the snow at around -17C to get a load of photos of the red/orange colour over the top of the mountain. Well worth it." [John McGowan]
The ferry is berthed and a person is taking a picture of it using a mobile phone.

The Brocken spectre appears as a large shadowy figure with a bright halo. The hilltop is covered in snow.
Anna Tully took a picture of a Brocken spectre that formed on the top of East Kip at sunrise. The spooky effect is produced when a person stands above the upper surface of a cloud - on a mountain or high ground - with the sun behind them. [Anna Tully]

The sunrise has turned the sky an orange and the snow below pink. There is a pool of frozen water.
Anthony Jackson said: "Around 08:15 in the morning heading in to Bynack More in the Cairngorms. The sunrise gives a beautiful colour in the sky." [Anthony Jackson]
A weather vane on the roof of a house has a silhouette of a golfer hitting a shot. Just above the figure is the moon. The sky is dark and starless.
Alan Rankin, of Carrbridge, said: "I was leaving my father-in-law's house in Blairgowrie and noticed the alignment of the moon with the golfer wind vane on the top of the house. I could not believe my luck being there at the right time, with clear skies and having my camera and telephoto lens with me." [Alan Rankin]
The mountain is covered in show and part of it is reflected in the water of a partly frozen loch. The sky has an orange hue to it.

The monument, which comprises a number of stone pillars, is silhouetted against a sky filled with colours of pink and blue.

The loch is frozen over. There is a snow-capped mountain in the distance. On the shores of the loch are two trees that are coated in ice. The sky is bright blue.
James Anderson said: "With temperatures reaching -8C in Ullapool even Loch Achall acquired a covering of snow last weekend." [James Anderson]
The white-walled castle is pictured on a chilly day. There is frost and a dusting of snow on parkland around the castle. The parkland is dotted with trees and large hill rises behind the castle.
"I was cycling near Blair Atholl when I saw this nice view of the famous Blair Castle in freezing conditions," said Eric Niven, of Dundee. [Eric Niven]
The lifeboat is moored in the harbour under a bright orange sky that matches the colour of the search and rescue boat. There are buildings with lights on in the background.
