Pregnant Alex Morgan Reveals Sex of Baby No. 2 and Shares the Sweet Way Her Daughter, 4, Is Welcoming Her Sibling (Exclusive)
The Alex Morgan Foundation is partnering with Babylist to support five coaches as they become first-time mothers
Alex Morgan can't wait to add another player to her team!
The retired soccer star, 35, spoke with PEOPLE exclusively about her partnership with Babylist, sharing that she had her baby boy in mind as she put together her registry. Morgan, who also shares daughter Charlie, 4, with husband Servando Carrasco, said the collaboration felt "natural" as she transitioned into this new era.
"As I retired from soccer and moved into post-soccer life, it was just a natural partnership for myself and Babylist because I'm getting more into mom-ing and having this baby boy coming up in just two months," she explains to PEOPLE.
"It was great to have the support from Babylist and just know that they really provide so many resources, not only for myself but other moms as well, and then their partnership as well with my foundation in providing five coaching moms their complete registry, it just was really a no-brainer," Morgan continues.

Aside from her partnership, the Alex Morgan Foundation is partnering with Babylist to gift five coaches who are becoming first-time mothers with their entire registry — a cause that Morgan says is near to her heart.
"Having my daughter almost five years ago, it felt at times like a really isolating experience and also felt like I was figuring it out on my own in a lot of ways," Morgan shares. "The pregnancy workouts, postpartum, getting my body back in shape while also breastfeeding, not having a nursery room at the training facility and just figuring everything out like I was the first athlete to do this when I in no way was."
"So I think through my foundation, drawing attention and appreciation for new moms, especially moms in sport, was really important to me," she shares.
"It's a really, really difficult job just being in the sports world, feeling like making the decision to be a mom while also being an athlete or coach or somehow involved in the sporting world, almost the two don't mesh, and so talking about it more is the first step to creating a situation where athletes and coaches and sports women feel accepted with kids or not."

As she thought about what to add to her registry, Morgan was able to pull from her first pregnancy to determine things she absolutely couldn't live without — and things she could skip this time around.
"I feel like this time around I wanted to make sure that I had enough, I know this sounds weird, but car seats for my vehicle, my husband's car, my dad who lives close by and all that tribe that we talk about," she shares. "So I think this time around just with the Nuna PIPA car seat, just making sure that we have an extra base, or we have a second one, that was really important."
Morgan continues, "And then I actually think that something I didn't really need this time around that I put on my registry a lot last time was just diapers. I feel like people already gift diapers at baby showers, and so I felt like I actually didn't go through all of the newborn or size one diapers that I thought I would the first time around."
When it came time to finding out the sex of her baby, Morgan says she and her husband "took our time" since she was still playing soccer at the time. About a month after she told everyone her pregnancy news, Morgan found out whether she'd be having a girl or a boy.
"We wanted to do a really private, intimate gender reveal with just my husband and my daughter and myself," Morgan shares. "And so we actually just had our nanny blow up balloons, black balloons with white paint in it, and then one of the balloons had either pink or blue paint."
Of course, the balloon with the colored paint ended up being the last one to drop. When it broke into blue splatter on the ground, Morgan learned she is expecting a boy.
"We were extremely ecstatic," she shares. "I was happy with either a boy or a girl, but I think my daughter was very excited to have a brother and not have a baby sister in the future be stealing all of her clothes as I have done with my sisters growing up because I'm one of three girls."
The former USWNT star says her daughter is particularly excited to become an older sibling.
"She wants to kiss my belly every day, say hello to baby brother every morning, say good night to him every night in my belly," Morgan explains. "She always wants her hand on my belly to feel him, so she does definitely understand, and it's nice having almost a five-year age gap because I feel like she will be a little more understanding of a situation."
"She'll be my little helper when taking care of baby boy," she adds.
