Prince Louis is all smiles in his new 5th birthday portraits
Prince Louis looks happy in a new series of portraits, released to celebrate his fifth birthday.
Buckingham Palace shared two adorable new portraits of Louis, who was photographed earlier this month in Windsor while spending time with family. While it has become a tradition for Kate to capture her children's birthday photos, the new photographs were instead taken by the portrait photographer Millie Pilkington, with Kate actually appearing in one of the shots.
In the photos, Louis can be seen dressed a cosy blue jumper with a red and beige argyle decoration, worn over a blue checkered collar shirt and blue shorts. Kate, who's shown slightly out of focus, wears a white-and-black striped jumper while pushing her son in a wheelbarrow.
Last year, for Louis's fourth birthday portrait, the young royal was photographed by his mother while playing on a beach. The toddler looked like his father, Prince William, while wearing a collared shirt under a grey jumper and teal shorts.
Over the weekend, the royal family commemorated what would have been the late Queen Elizabeth's 97th birthday with the release of an intimate new portrait shot by Kate. The photograph, which was taken at Balmoral Castle last summer, shows the late monarch surrounded by some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Louis and his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Lady Louise Windsor, James, Early of Wessex, Savannah Phillips, Isla Phillips, Lena Tindall, Mia Tindall, and Lucas Philip Tindall also appeared in the photo.
