Hours ahead of Prince Louis’s royal christening, Kensington Palace has released the names of his godparents — plural.

Following tradition, Prince William and Kate Middleton selected six of their closest friends and family as the prince’s godparents.

Louis’s godparents include Nicholas van Cutsem, a childhood friend of Prince William, whose daughter Grace was a bridesmaid in the 2011 marriage of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, while daughter Florence served as a bridesmaid in Prince Harry’s wedding in May of this year.

Along with van Cutsem, another childhood friend, Guy Pelly, has also been chosen as godfather. Pelly, a wealthy former night club owner, is the son of Princess Diana’s close friend, Lady Carolyn Herbert.

Rounding out the list of godfathers is Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, a longtime friend and former Eaton classmate of Prince William’s. Aubrey-Fletcher comes from a long line of highly esteemed royals — his father is the Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire, and the Queen’s personal representative in the county.

In terms of godmothers, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen Lady Laura Meade, the wife of Prince William’s best friend, James Meade, who gave he prince’s best man’s speech in 2011 and was named Princess Charlotte’s godfather in 2015.

Kate Middleton’s solicitor cousin, Lucy Middleton has also been named godmother, along with the duchess’s friend from Marlborough College, Hannah Carter.
