George, Louis and Charlotte pen first social media post with Father’s Day tribute to Prince William

The Prince and Princess of Wales’s three children have penned their first social media post in a touching tribute to William on Father’s Day.

Alongside a new picture of the children with their father, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, wrote: “We love you, Papa. Happy Father’s Day.”

It marks the first time a message from the trio has been published on the Kensington Palace social channels and it was signed off “G, C & L” with a love hearts emoji.

The accompanying picture, taken by the Princess of Wales on a beach in Norfolk last month, shows Prince William and his three children with their arms around each other.

The children often feature on the Kensington Palace social media videos and pictures, but have never released their own personal message before.

In 2020, they were all separately filmed quizzing Sir David Attenborough on some pressing environmental and animal-related questions.

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales also wished the King a happy Father’s Day with a touching old photograph of father and son.

The Wales’s official account shared the sweet baby photo of a young William playing with his father in the gardens of Kensington Palace.

In the picture, the young royal is wearing a striped t-shirt with blue dungarees as his father kicks a multi-coloured ball towards the beaming toddler.

The post is captioned: “Happy Father’s Day, Pa. W.”

The photo, taken on June 12 1984, shows the close father and son bond between the now monarch and his heir.

Later that same year Prince William would gain a younger brother, with the Duke of Sussex born in September.

The picture comes the day after father and son attended Trooping the Colour, the sovereign’s official birthday parade, as His Majesty resumed his public duties while undergoing treatment for cancer.

His Majesty has been undergoing treatment since February, but resumed a managed programme of public engagements at the end of April, in line with his doctors’ advice.

The King’s attendance at Trooping therefore saw him inspect guard soldiers from the Scottish State Coach instead of on horseback, to minimise any undue risk to his health.

Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales also made a return to public life at the event on Saturday, accompanied by her husband and three children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

The princess, who has been undergoing her own cancer treatment and had not been out and about in public since Christmas Day, beamed as she joined the rest of her family on the Buckingham Palace balcony.
