New photographs of Princess Charlotte delivering homemade packages to those in need during the coronavirus crisis have been released by Kensington Palace to mark her fifth birthday.

Charlotte has helped her family deliver food to the elderly and vulnerable in Norfolk.

In one photo, she can be seen knocking on a resident's door while holding a package of homemade pasta. In two others, Charlotte is picking up white bags of food to deliver, and looking at the camera and smiling. The four images were taken in April by the Duchess of Cambridge, known for her passion for photography.

The palace shared the images on the official Kensington Palace Instagram account and posted the caption: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share four new photographs of Princess Charlotte ahead of her fifth birthday tomorrow.

"The images were taken by The Duchess as the family helped to pack up and deliver food packages for isolated pensioners in the local area."

Charlotte joined Kate and Prince William and her brothers Prince George and Prince Louis to make the deliveries, believed to be close to the family home of Anmer Hall, on the Queen's Sandringham estate.

The Cambridge family spent several hours making fresh pasta before delivering it.

Charlotte was born at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington on 2 May 2015, weighing 8lb 3oz.

The Duchess of Cambridge regularly takes photographs of her children Prince George, six, and Prince Louis, two, to commemorate their birthdays.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have been joining the nationwide campaign to clap for NHS workers who are risking their lives in fighting the pandemic.

Kensington Royal Instagram account has posted a clip of the Cambridge family applauding NHS staff outside their home in Norfolk.
