Princess Eugenie’s face is featured in a very meaningful new piece of art
Princess Eugenie has kept busy since marrying the love of her life, Jack Brooksbank, in October. The royal bride floated down the aisle in a custom Peter Pilotto gown that dipped in the back, purposefully putting her scoliosis scar front and centre, and now she’s found a way to combine her advocacy for the spinal condition with her penchant for visual art! On Tuesday (Nov. 20), the princess took to Instagram to share the exciting news – she’s been involved in an abstract art project that is newly installed at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where she was treated for scoliosis back in 2001.
The artwork, which features the princess’s profile among many others, clearly means a great deal to the 28-year-old, who has openly shared her struggles with the disease. The newlywed talked about the important project in the caption of the photo carousel, writing: “Very excited to be a part of Tribe, Studio Roso’s 33ft sculpture that hangs in the atrium of the new inpatient ward block of the Stanmore Building at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. This is the hospital I was treated for Scoliosis in 2001 and it’s fantastic this new building will be open to patients in December. It will contain a children’s and young people’s ward and two adult acute wards.”

The caption continued: “Art can have a very positive impact on the healing of patients, reducing stress and anxiety, pain and improving mental health. Can you guess which is my face??” Though her fans seemed to have trouble guessing which face was hers, they were clearly having fun with the mystery, with most guessing that her face was the pale blue one at the bottom of the hanging sculpture.
Another recent project that the royal was involved in combined her passion for visual art and fashion! She, along with other big names like Sienna Miller and Ronnie Wood, were asked to make environmentally inspired illustrations, which were featured on tote bags and sold for Sky Ocean Rescue and Project 0’s PassOnPlastic collection.

Speaking exclusively to HELLO!, Eugenie opened up about the inspiration behind her design: "I drew this image to show how much of our Earth is covered by water. The ocean is our planet's life support system. Sadly, we have a tendency to take the ocean for granted, assuming that it is an endless vessel for us to take from and give nothing in return. It is, however, time to give back. Everyone can easily do this with just a few small changes to everyday routines. I hope these products help people form new habits with ease and a bit of style."
