Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank Have Just Welcomed Their First Child

From Town & Country

The royal family has announced that Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have welcomed their first child. Their baby boy was born early in the morning on February 9, 2021 at The Portland Hospital, according to a statement released by the royals.

This is just the latest step in Eugenie and Jack's long love story, which began back in 2010, when the duo met at a Swiss ski resort. They continued to date for years, attending important royal events like Royal Ascot and Pippa Middleton's wedding as a pair, before Jack popped the question in 2018. The couple tied the knot later that year in a memorable wedding at St. George's Chapel.

Back late September of 2020, royal couple Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank revealed that they were expecting in an announcement reading, "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in early 2021. The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York, Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are delighted with the news."

The announcement from Buckingham Palace offered a rough idea of Eugenie's due date and the Princess used the same language in a sweet Instagram post celebrating her pregnancy, writing "Jack and I are so excited for early 2021," and adding a baby emoji for good measure.

As is common among royal births, no official due date was announced, but from the timing fans and royal experts anticipated to see the latest member of the royal family before March. It turned out they were right on the money, and the princess and Brooksbank welcomed their 8lb 1 oz bundle of joy just in time for Valentine's Day.
