It's safe to say that 2020 hasn't turned out according to plan for anybody, and though things haven't exactly been a walk in the park for actress, producer, and philanthropist Priyanka Chopra Jonas, she's certainly not going to complain about it. "I have to say that I’m grateful every single day to be able to quarantine with my family, that they’ve all been healthy, and to have a home, to have shelter, food, and feel protected," Chopra Jonas tells Woman's Day. "It's unlike many parts of the world and many people who this quarantine has affected very adversely, so I feel grateful every day. I have nothing to complain about."

In the face of the global shutdown, Chopra Jonas has been struck by the fortitude she's seen from people around the world in big ways and small. "The one thing I’ve really realized about human beings is we're really resilient," she says, noting that despite lockdown she was still able to do 80 hours for a film project from home. "We figured out ways of making sure we still work," Chopra Jonas says. "All the meetings we do on Zoom, the decisions are still being made, people are still working, we’re so resilient as a race. I can maneuver myself to deliver if I need to, and I feel like a lot of us can."

And when things get tough, Chopra Jonas knows that it's important to get some perspective. "I go online and I read the news, and I read how difficult it is for the migrant workers for example in India who have to walk for 20 days to get back to their house or refugees who live in areas where social distancing isn’t even a possibility," she says. "I read stuff thats happening around the world that makes me feel blessed, so I don’t allow myself to feel low because I may be bored, because I consider all that a privilege."

In the meantime, Chopra Jonas has been filling her time with family time — her husband, Nick Jonas, planned cute activities all around the house for her recent birthday, she says — developmental work on projects she's producing, working in writers rooms, and setting up the home she and Jonas just moved into. "I focus on the blessings instead of allowing my morale to come down because I don’t think I can afford that," she says. "There’s too many people in the world who can’t do that."
