Is Putting a Christmas Tree in Your Bathroom Gross or Brilliant?
When it comes to Christmas decorating, although there are definitely still those purists out there, many people are embracing new, unexpected, and alternative ways to decorate for the holidays. This might mean trying out a viral garland hack or placing Christmas trees in unexpected rooms in your house…like the bathroom?!
Yes. Even the bathroom is fair game when it comes to displaying your Christmas tree nowadays. As Instagram user and Christmas decor aficionado @sami_riccioli posted recently, she has no qualms about displaying a gorgeously-decorated tree in her bathroom. As she says in the caption, “Here’s your sign to put a tree anywhere you love to be… I love looking at the tree from my bathtub.”
In her video that showcases her white glittering tree festooned with glass ornaments in kaleidoscopic hues (it really is gorgeous!), she’s basically saying that if it brings you joy to have a Christmas tree in an unconventional space in your home, go for it.
Now, we have no doubt that those traditionalists out there will turn their noses up at the idea of putting a Christmas tree in the bathroom of all places. But if you have an open mind about holiday decor and are cool with pushing the boundaries, you’re in good company with those who left positive comments on this post.
One Instagram user says, “My new life goal, to have a master bath big enough to have a tree!” Another hilariously commented, “I need medical compensation because I just broke my jaw it hit the ground so hard! WOW! This is beyond magical!” And one was definitely ready to embrace the idea by saying, “BRB running to put a tree in my bathroom.”
In general, people are digging the idea of being able to gaze up at an enchanting Christmas tree while they soak in the bathtub, which sounds magical to us, too. Just a couple words of caution: keep those electrical cords as far from water as you possibly can. In other words, this is an ideal situation for someone whose tub and outlet are far apart from one another.
And maybe don’t put it like right next to the toilet—because you don’t want to trip over it, and, you know, cleanliness.
Other than that, we’re thinking that the sky’s the limit as to where you can display a Christmas tree. And if the idea of putting one up in your bathroom makes your heart sing, go all in and show off the tree of your dreams.
