Red Lobster Launches Comeback With Menu Item That Caused A ‘Social Media Riot’

This year has been quite a roller coaster for Red Lobster. The seafood chain faced bankruptcy, embraced rapper Flavor Flav as its knight in shining clock necklace, and brought in a new CEO. And if that wasn't enough, the restaurant just announced several new menu items and the return of two fan favorites as part of a comeback.

The new menu features savory sides, enticing entrees, and more. Among the new menu items now available are:

  • Lobster Pappardelle Pasta

  • Bacon Wrapped Sea Scallops

  • Lobster Bisque

  • Lemon Basil Mahi

  • Simply Prepared Mahi

  • Parmesan-Crusted Chicken

  • Roasted Asparagus

In addition to those new menu items, Red Lobster is also bringing back Popcorn Shrimp and Hush Puppies. Red Lobster's new CEO, Damola Adamolekun, said there was “a social media riot over us taking off the hush puppies a few years ago.”

As for customers, they're pretty ecstatic about this latest menu shift. One user on Instagram declared that "It all looks great!" while another person commented on how "delicious" the new menu items look.

And then there was this fan who deserves all the unlimited Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

"I spent the better part of October in the hospital. As soon as I'm recovered, this guy is going to rush out in a feeding frenzy for some well-deserved Red Lobster!" they commented.

For those in the mood for some holiday cheer of the liquid variety, Red Lobster is also bringing back several festive cocktails, including the Snowglobe Sangria, Ruby Mule, and Mocha Espresso Martini.

With its new menu and the return of Hush Puppies and Popcorn Shrimp, do you think Red Lobster is poised for a triumphant comeback?
