Ree Drummond Shares Adorable New Photo with Baby Granddaughter Sofia: 'Grandma Couldn't Stay Away'

Ree Drummond is spending some quality time with her granddaughter!

On Monday, Dec. 30, the Food Network star, 55, shared a few snaps on her Instagram Stories as she cuddled with her baby granddaughter Sofia, whom her 27-year-old daughter Alex welcomed on Dec. 19.

In one sweet photo, Drummond captured Sofia sleeping on her chest, writing, "In Dallas. Watching Southern Charm. With Sofia. And Georgie. (And Sofia's parents!)," and tagging both Alex and her husband Mauricio Scott.

Another photo on her Instagram Stories was reshared from Alex's Stories and showed the Pioneer Woman star holding her baby granddaughter on the couch. "Grandma couldn't stay away!" Alex wrote over the photo.

On Dec. 18, Drummond shared that she'd become a grandmother after her daughter Alex welcomed her first baby with her husband Scott. After she shared the exciting news, Ree wrote an article on her website about the experience, sharing that Scott was so supportive of her daughter, she almost felt like she didn't need to be there.

"Alex did great, and so did Mauricio," Drummond wrote. "We arrived in Dallas and got to see them in the hospital just as Alex was transitioning from latent to active labor, and it was so wonderful to see how much they love and support each other."

"Mauricio attended to Alex's every need, to the point that the rest of us questioned if we even needed to be there," she joked. "What a gift to Ladd and me, for Alex to have a partner in life who demonstrates love through such clear action."

Alex first announced the exciting news that she'd welcomed her first baby, a daughter named Sofia Marie, with her husband on Instagram. She posted a gallery of black and white photos of the couple with their new baby.

"At 2:27am our perfect girl made her arrival a couple weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed," the couple's caption read. "Thank you Lord."
