Remember When Demi Moore Went Barefoot to the People's Choice Awards?

The day was March 9, the year 1993, and Demi Moore and Bruce Willis (the couple of the decade) smiled hand in hand as they arrived at the 19th annual People’s Choice Awards. He wore a black tux, she an embellished black and gold gown, her shoulder-length hair in tousled curls. And on her feet: jeweled ankle bracelets and gems, and nothing else.

Yep, Demi’s feet went commando to the PCA’s that year — and we hate to say it (I mean, shoes rule), but she really pulled it off:

Fresh off a string of early ‘90s hits, Moore (then 30), accepted the People’s Choice Award for Actress in a Dramatic Motion Picture, beating out fellow fan favorites Whitney Houston and Sharon Stone. Upon receiving the award that evening, Demi explained why she’d gone barefoot: she’d broken her toe that day and “could not wear shoes.” Is that how breaking your toe works? Bruce Willis (0:40) seems skeptical.

Anyway, we’re not wishing broken bones on anyone, but we’d love to see someone commemorate this iconic PCA’s moment on its 25-year anniversary (Sunday, Nov. 11). How ‘bout it, J. Law?
