‘Renovation Island’ Star Sarah Baeumler Explains How Her Four Kids Get an Education on the Island
Earlier this month, HGTV introduced Renovation Island, a new show that follows one family's journey after they pack up their lives and move to the Bahamas in order to restore a massive rundown beach resort (think: Swiss Family Robinson, but with a modern day twist). The show stars husband and wife duo Bryan and Sarah Baeumler and their four kids, Quintyn, Lincoln, Josephine, and Charlotte.
During the first season, viewers see Bryan, a licensed contractor, and Sarah, with her eye for design, transform an abandoned 10-acre property into a world-class island oasis...in just six months. However, besides staying on track with this project, Byran and Sarah also have to tend to the needs of their four kids. During Sunday's new episode of Renovation Island, the couple butt heads over priorities and Byran leaves the site for a few days, putting Sarah in charge of the project and the family. While taking the kids to get ice cream, she gives an update on the schooling decisions she and Byran made.
When they first arrived at the island, Sarah explains that she and Bryan started homeschooling their three youngest children. However, as construction picked up and their schedules got hectic, they made the executive decision to enroll Lincoln, Josephine, and Charlotte in a local Bahamian school. Meanwhile, they decided to send their oldest son, Quintyn, 14, to a boarding school in order to give him a more normal high school experience. While the Baeumlers don't get to see their son on the daily, Sarah reveals that the school is only a 20 minute flight from the island.
