Restaurant blending Indian, American and Mediterranean food will open its first KC spot
A Colorado-based burger chain blending American, Indian and Mediterranean flavors will soon open its first Kansas City area spot.
Gaia Masala & Burger will open at 425 Westport Road, in the former Kobi-Q spot. The Korean barbecue restaurant still has its Crossroads location at 1531 Grand Blvd.
Officials with the Gaia Masala said it will open early next year, tentatively in late January.
The fusion chain sells tikka masala, gyros, hamburgers, pizza and more globally loved cuisine.
Menu items include its tikka masala burgers, tikka masala chicken cheesesteaks, Philly masala cheese fries and beef gyro pizza.
The company, founded in 2019, has four restaurants in Colorado. The Kansas City location will be its first out of the state.
The chain’s name is derived from the Greek word “gaia,” meaning “Earth.” It offers a variety of vegetarian and vegan selections.
