Rihanna's plunging white collared gown with XL leg slit is giving snow queen
This is not a drill! Repeat, this is not a drill! Rihanna has treated us to two red carpet appearances in two days and we are shook. As the saying goes, you'll wait ages for a bus and then two come along at once... Seems the same can be said about Riri.
Not that we're complaining, of course. First up, the nine-time Grammy Award winner stopped by The 2024 Fashion Awards in London to support her partner, A$AP Rocky, who was honoured with the Cultural Innovator Award at the glitzy event. She stole the show serving high-fashion Cookie Monster in a vintage Christian Lacroix Haute Couture blue faux fur wrap dress and coordinating hat from the designer's autumn winter 2002 collection.
Just a day later, at the 38th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards in New York last night [Wednesday 4 December], the artist-turned-entrepreneur again turned up – but with a totally different aesthetic.
Her custom Alaïa dress featured a turned-up high collar and plunging neckline that gave a glimpse at her famous tattoo. Ruching around the hips accentuated the figure-hugging silhouette of the long-sleeved design that then flared into a short train that pooled on the floor.
A *very* high central leg slit added extra drama as well as showing off the custom Manolo Blahnik white tie-up heeled sandals Riri wore on her feet. As for accessories, as well as donning vintage Van Cleef & Arpels jewels, a Chrome Hearts pearl and diamond stacked choker necklace provided the perfect finishing touch.
Rihanna and A$AP may have attended the event so the rapper could claim the Collaboration of the Year award for his work with Puma, but we're crowning Rihanna in this look a Snow Queen.
