Everyone has a go-to snack lineup. Whether you’re stocking up for a movie night or a road trip, you probably tend to reach for the same few snacks every time. For as long as I can remember, my personal roster has included Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Buncha Crunch Milk Chocolate, Andy Capp Hot Fries, and, of course, my favorite: Cheese Ritz Bits.

I typically don’t change this snack roster — that is, until I heard that Ritz is introducing a brand-new spicy queso flavor. Here’s what we know: According to a press release, Ritz is expanding its Ritz Bits Cracker Sandwiches portfolio to introduce this new spicy queso flavor for the first time in nearly a decade. The buttery, crunchy rounds have a creamy, cheesy, and spicy filling.

“With Spicy Queso, we’re answering consumers’ demands for exciting, bold flavors and turning up the heat on the Ritz Bits you know and love,” said Steven Saenen, Ritz vice president of marketing, in a press release. “It’s a bold twist on your childhood favorite, with a kick in each mini bite.”

Once the news came out about this new spicy Ritz flavor, eager fans on social media could not hold back their thoughts. One creator, @snackbetch, who is known for sharing the latest food releases, posted about these new mini spicy sandwich crackers. One person commented, “Spicy queso Ritz sound great.”

You will start to see Ritz Bits Spicy Queso Cracker Sandwiches flood the shelves of major food retailers in February 2025. But if you can’t wait until then, certain convenience stores will begin selling three-ounce bags starting this month.

I’m excited to try these new Ritz cracker sandwiches. (Who knows? They might just enter my roster!) But if waiting a month feels too long, here’s some good news: This isn’t the first time Ritz has released a spicy snack. Many major retailers carry Ritz Cheese Crispers Spicy Queso, which are oven-baked chips that pair perfectly with creamy dips or fruity salsas.
