Meghan Markle has quite the shoe collection. Pre-Megxit, her royal wardrobe was said to cost upwards of $500,000, and with a penchant for pricey designers like Aquazzura and Manolo Blahnik, replicating her regal style will cost you a pretty penny.

With that being said, like her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Sussex has been known to surprise us every now and again with more affordable picks, for example, her Hunter rain boots (shop here in Canada, here in U.S.).

Sporting the practical spring style during her Emmy-nominated interview with Oprah, the 40-year-old Duchess wore her Hunter Tall Rain Boots with a pair of jeans and a white button-down while giving a tour of her family's chicken coop, "Archie's Chick Inn, Established 2021."

Much like the royal family's fondness for Barbour jackets, the U.K.'s most famous residents have been fans of Hunter boots for years.

Princess Diana was photographed in the iconic wellies at Balmoral Castle prior to her royal wedding in 1981, and 30 years later, her former husband, Prince Charles, wore the brand's Argyll boots while visiting flood victims in England. Most recently, Lady Gabriella Windsor, a cousin to the queen, wore the famously British rain boots to a polo match.

A longtime favourite of the royals, Hunter has received two royal warrants from the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh for its handcrafted, high-quality designs.

Why shoppers love them

The Hunter "Tour" Packable Rain Boots have earned an average rating of 4.3 stars on the Nordstrom site, with shoppers deeming them a must-have for spring weather.

"This is a great, fashionable rainboot," writes one reviewer. "I wear them with pants, leggings, skirts and even dresses. They keep your feet dry from the rain and any rain puddles! I wear them as a snow boot as well in the winter. "

"They are gorgeous, and I have received many compliments on them," says another shopper. "I have worn them over leggings and jeans without an issue."They're "lightweight" but offer "good protection," writes another Nordstrom shopper.

However, before you head to checkout, some shoppers note that while the boots are "super cute," they aren't ideal for those with larger calves.

"I have larger calves than most, and these were much too tight," writes one shopper.
