Sabrina Carpenter's Faux Bob On The Grammys Red Carpet Kept Us All Guessing
Sabrina Carpenter has had quite the night. The Good Graces singer took home the Best Pop Solo Performance for Espresso and the Best Pop Vocal Album for Short N' Sweet at the 2025 Grammy Awards, performed a jazzy medley of her hit songs complete with a tap dancing section, and stunned on the red carpet a feathery, icy blue custom JW Anderson number styled by Jared Ellner.

But what really stopped the ELLE beauty team in our (mid-scroll) tracks was her hair on the red carpet. Her signature blonde curls and fringe were present and correct but it looks...shorter. Did Sabrina Carpenter just join the bob brigade and followed in the footsteps of Billie Eilish and Kendall Jenner with a dramatic chop? Is 2025 set to be Carpenter's short hair era?
As it turns out, Carpenter's longer locks are still well and truly alive. The faux bob is the work of a discreet little chignon created by hairstylist Evanie Frausto, concealed behind a curtain of wavy, old Hollywood curls that framed Carpenter's face.
It's a clever little trick for anyone who's keen to experiment with the bob but is not quite ready to commit to shorter hair. Rather than a clean, slicked back bun, channel Carpenter's look with chin-length pieces around the face to give the illusion of a bob. It helps to give you a feel for the style. The look also allowed Carpenter's dress - which has a diamanté in the back - to properly shine.
Later in the evening, the 25-year old singer's tumbling curls came back in full force. The rest of her beauty was in keeping with the theme of high glamour. Manicurist Zola Ganzorigt created a 'Sabrina-coded' design with ballet pink chrome nails complete with tiny jewels while make-up artist Carolina Gonzalez went delivered a 'Baby Angel With A Touch Of Romance' look.
Detailing the full make-up breakdown on Instagram, Gonzalez used Prada Refine Blurring Extending Primer before going in with Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.
As for that enviable flush? It's Giorgio Armani's Luminous Silk Cheek Tint in 53, a Barbie pink. Keen to copy her lip combo? Gonzalez prepped her lips with Aquaphor Lip Repair Stick before swiping on Prada Monochrome Lipstick in B101 Tiepolo with B11 Alabaster in the centre. A pop of Prada Balm in U001 Astral Pink lends some luminosity.
The bob looks good on Carpenter, perhaps a short hair 'do is on the cards soon.
