Salma Hayek's Pet Owl Threw Up in Harry Styles's Hair

Salma Hayek's Pet Owl Threw Up in Harry Styles's Hair

While the mystery of Harry Styles's flawless waves and easy curls remains a secret for one more day, Salma Hayek and her now-legendary pet owl Kering may have a little insider information. During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Hayek explained that Harry, like most people, is fascinated, enamored, and obsessed with Kering (a southern white-faced owl that Hayek rescued). Unlike most people, though, he had the chance to see Kering face-to-face at Hayek's home. The meet-cute was less cute and more nauseating than anyone imagined ... the owl threw up in his hair.

"One time there was a very important celebrity, will not say his name, and he was really excited about the owl and was hoping the owl would go on his head because it was on me," Hayek told DeGeneres. "He's like, 'I need an owl in my life. How do you do that?' And the minute he least expected it, he came on his head."

The story up to that point is the stuff of Disney princesses, but Hayek went on to say that things went downhill from there. Luckily, Harry and his famous coif were nonplussed and now, there's a story to tell about the whole thing, which is more than most people can say about their encounters with A-list avian pets.

"But then [the owl] did the thing, and this thing came out, this ball of rat hair was on his head," she finished. "He was okay. He was kind of cool, he didn't scream. That happens sometimes when you have guests in this house!"

Hayek didn't mention Styles by name during the story, but DeGeneres managed to get her to confirm that it was the ex-One Directioner. And even though there's owl barf between them, it seems like Hayek and Styles - and Kering - don't have any bad blood between them.

"I hope I'm not in trouble!" Hayek said. "He was super cool, by the way. He was super cool even with that happening ... He's the best."

"I gave it to my husband as a Valentine's present and named her Kering because that's the name of his company and their symbol of the owl," Hayek told People earlier this year of how she managed to get a pet owl. "And he was like, 'Well, thank you, but I know this is your own present for yourself.' "
