SC coastal city named one of most ‘Instagrammable’ beaches in U.S. Is it on your post?

Growing popularity in Myrtle Beach as a destination has made it one of the top beaches in the U.S. posted on social media, according to Swim Outlet.

Myrtle Beach was the 10th most Instagrammable beach in the country with nearly 3 million Instagram posts using #MyrtleBeach, according to data from Instagram and Swim Outlet. Sunset Beach, North Carolina, was close behind, hitting No. 12 with 2.5 million posts.

The top three beaches were Miami Beach, South Beach and Palm Beach, all in Florida.

The company looked at hashtag data from 250 beaches around the United States, analyzing which got the most posts.

For the most Instagrammable beach cities, Myrtle Beach ranked 7th. Sunset Beach was the second most Instagrammable beach town in the country, according to Swim Outlet.

Myrtle Beach, which has been a vacation destination for decades, has been increasing in popularity in recent years. The area was the most moved-to place in the United States in 2023 and 2024, according to PODS Moving and Storage.

The ocean in Myrtle Beach is warm enough to swim in from June through October, according to the National Weather Service. The area usually sees around 17 million tourists a year, according to Myrtle Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
